With this, eugenics will no longer require killing or sterilizing “bad” people, instead we can prevent them from being born, and there is no way some people will NOT use this technology in such a manner.
To me the problem is that we as a society have failed to stay ahead of techniques when it comes to policy and legislature. Perhaps because to acknowledge these techniques would require confronting the morality of having children, perhaps because there's a fear of regulating industry and commercialization of these procedures, but our failure as a society to set up standards and establish the rights of the people involved before the technology is in use has set us up for abuses in the not so distant future.
