Autonomy Can Go Too Far

HERE.

  1. I don't think I see this as autonomy going too far. A man wanted to create the hottest pepper and he did. People around the world wanted to see what the hottest pepper was like and they did. This is not harming people, aside from the temporary, but persistent pain. Some people like to push themselves to their limits and experience extremes. While I definitely would not ever want to try this pepper, I can see why some people might and I do not think it should be something that is restricted just because it is intense.

  2. I think we should be more concerned by the autonomy of the general public to consume these peppers than this man's freedom to grow said peppers. He's a scientist trying to find the limits of his field, like an engineer building a faster car or a bullet maker designing a faster bullet. The danger in this example is how jokers all over the world can find these and eat them for internet fame. Just look at the kid who shot himself with a desert eagle for youtube. The pepper man isn't doing anything wrong, but it would be wrong for him to sell these to the general public.
